Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Welcome

This is the final issue for this year.  Back in July, we started these email based announcements.  We shall continue to evolve these newsletters further.  As we improve the newsletter, we will still keep our focus towards the website also.  If you have been there recently, you will notice that the newsletter can now be found online.  As more issues are published you will be able to refer back to them online.  In addition, we strive to keep the announcements page up to date.

Some Things Old

Last month we received some of DuPont’s Tyvek House Wrap.  If you find that you need some, stop on by and pick some up.

ATTENTION BUILDERS:

If you are installing complete window units, stop by the store and inquire about the easy-to-use pre-bent sill pans, available now!

Now in stock: Genuine PASLODE RounDrive Hot Dipped Galvanized Collated Nails.

*We also stock Fuel Cells for the cordless guns.

Some Things New

We have some new items in stock at Cape May Lumber.  We now stock Christy’s adhesive for the Azek Trimboards, available in 8oz “toothpaste” tubes.

If you need another choice for porch ceiling or wainscoting, we can now get 9/16x4 edge and center bead in Mahogany!

Stainless steel collated finish nails and finish brads are now available in 500 count job size packages.  Most sizes and styles are available now.

Other Things

For some years now, we have offered custom size screen/storm doors made from mahogany.  We still make those doors here, but we have a few more options for other shop made items.  If you are planning to build an enclosed porch, we can build porch panels that you can set up between the posts.  If you are in the market for an outside shower door, we have a door model just for you.

From time to time, we have been asked for Victorian Brackets to go with our screen doors.  We have a few to choose from and they are also made from mahogany.

Know your fasteners!

Galvanized Coated

Electrogalvanized

Zinc coating applied to steel with an electrical charge.  Offers limited rust resistance

Mechanically Galvanized

Zinc coating applied by tumbling with powdered zinc and glass beads.  Offers increased corrosion resistance, comparable to hot galvanized when equivalent amount of zinc is used

Hot Galvanized

Zinc coating applied by heat treatment.  Offers increased corrosion resistance.

Hot Dipped Galvanized

Zinc coating applied by dipping into molten zinc.  Offers better corrosion resistance than hot galvanized and mechanically galvanized fasteners
